Carver Shanor

Carver

Carver Shanor’s Jiu Jitsu journey began in the summer of 1999 under the guidance of Master Pedro Sauer. Inspired by watching Royce Gracie overcome much larger opponents in the early UFC events, Carver started training at just seven years old, unaware of how profoundly BJJ would shape his life.

In the summer of 2024, Carver celebrated 25 years on the mats—a milestone that fills him with immense gratitude and excitement. Growing up immersed in Jiu Jitsu instilled in him invaluable life lessons, fostering a deep passion for the sport and its teachings.

Carver began coaching kids’ classes as a teenager, and over the past 15 years, he has evolved into an instructor for students of all ages and skill levels. Teaching and sharing his experiences has become a true passion, allowing him to help others grow both on and off the mats.

With a background in multiple martial arts, Carver is a true “player’s coach”—dedicated to helping those around him develop as practitioners, competitors, and martial artists. His commitment to technical excellence, mentorship, and fostering a strong training environment makes him a valued member of the Crown BJJ community.
